About the artist

When I was a kid, the worst punishment I could get was having my Crayola crayons taken away. On our front porch, I had an easel with pots of finger paint. In elementary school, I used acrylics to create large paper panels that hung in the hallways. I took watercolor classes. For me, creating art with color was everything.

As I got older, as with most youth I got distracted. My interests expanded and eventually careened into the music world. I went to an arts-focused high school and performed in local bands. In university, I majored in classical guitar. Later, taking an about-face in genres, I joined a rock/blues band and toured for a number of years.

Then life took several sharp turns: Covid hit; the music industry shut down temporarily; I lost my day job. Sheltering in with my partner and our son for much of 2020, I rediscovered color! Inspired by a new way of seeing life through the eyes of my then 2-year-old, I began to experiment with mosaic tile on wood. Then one day while digging through a reclaimed building materials site, I found some old multi-pane windows. Mosaic glass on repurposed windows… I became obsessed.

Now I work as part of a team at Bullseye Glass, contributing to the manufacture of sheets of glass. I also spend time in the studio practicing fusing, slumping and other glass techniques.  Once again, creating art with color is everything.
